Tour story

The Druk Path Trek is one of Bhutan’s most popular trekking routes, offering an incredible combination of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and high-altitude adventure. Spanning around 5 to 6 days, the trek connects the capital, Thimphu, to the valley of Paro, passing through scenic landscapes, alpine meadows, and dense forests of rhododendrons and pine. The trek provides a unique opportunity to experience Bhutan’s pristine environment, crossing several mountain passes that offer stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. Along the way, trekkers will encounter traditional Bhutanese villages, monasteries, and temples, all set against the backdrop of Bhutan's untouched landscapes.

The trek begins in Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, where you start by ascending through a beautiful forested trail. As you ascend to higher altitudes, you’ll encounter breathtaking views of mountains such as Jhomolhari and Jichu Drake. One of the highlights of the trek is the trek through the pristine forests of pine and juniper, where trekkers are treated to sights of beautiful birds and wildlife, including the Himalayan blue sheep. Along the way, you will visit tranquil spots like the Jimilang Tsho and the Rhododendron Lake, each offering a unique experience of Bhutan’s wilderness.

The Druk Path Trek is relatively moderate in difficulty, making it accessible for trekkers with some experience in high-altitude hiking. The route takes you across alpine meadows, past pristine lakes, and over high mountain passes, including the 4,200-meter-high Semkotha La. While the trek doesn’t take you to extreme altitudes, it still offers a challenging adventure for those looking to experience Bhutan’s natural beauty up close. The trek concludes in Paro, where you can visit the famous Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery), one of Bhutan’s most iconic cultural landmarks, making the trek a memorable and rewarding experience.
