Tour story

The Tsho Rolpa Trek is a relatively off-the-beaten-path adventure located in the Solu-Khumbu region of Nepal, offering trekkers a mix of natural beauty, cultural exploration, and a challenging route. The trek takes you to the remote Tsho Rolpa Lake, situated at an altitude of 4,580 meters, making it one of the largest glacial lakes in the region. The journey through this area offers spectacular views of towering peaks such as Numbur and Karyolung, as well as dense forests, alpine meadows, and traditional Sherpa villages. The trek also takes you through the lower Solu region, where you get a chance to experience the unique Sherpa culture and Buddhist monasteries.

Starting from the town of Phaplu, the trek gradually ascends through small villages like Bumburi and Junbesi, and eventually crosses the high-altitude passes of Tashi Lapcha and the remote areas near the Rolwaling range. The challenging terrain includes rugged trails, river crossings, and some steep climbs, making it a more difficult trek compared to others in the Everest region. The isolated nature of the route ensures fewer crowds, allowing trekkers to experience a sense of tranquility and untouched beauty.

The trek to Tsho Rolpa is not just about scenic landscapes; it’s also an opportunity to connect with the local Sherpa people and explore their ancient traditions. The lake itself holds spiritual significance, and it is a popular pilgrimage site for many local Buddhist communities. Due to the remote and somewhat challenging nature of the trek, it's essential to be well-prepared and acclimatized to the altitude.
